Cancellation and Missed Session Policy

The Karen Horney Clinic asks for a 24-hour notice to cancel appointments. The following guidelines apply specifically to patients using commercial insurance and Medicare. Please read the following carefully:

We are requesting 24-hour advanced notice to cancel appointments.
If you cancel an appointment with at least 24-hour advanced notice there will be no charge. However, if you cancel an appointment with less than 24-hour advanced notice or do not show for your appointment without providing any notice there will be a charge of $35.
You will be responsible for this charge as your insurance company cannot be billed if you are not present at an appointment.
You will not be able to attend any further appointments until the missed session fee is paid along with any other fees due at the time of your appointment.

The following guidelines apply specifically to patients not using any insurance (self paying). Please read the following carefully:

You are required to pay your set fee for all sessions whether kept or cancelled. Although your therapist might give you a free makeup session if time allows. The only sessions not paid for are those cancelled by the therapist.
