About Us
The Karen Horney Clinic was founded in 1955 in honor of Karen Horney ,a pioneer in the field of psychoanalysis. Since its formation, the Clinic has expanded its services to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse community. In doing so, it has evolved into a vital center for mental health treatment, training and research. The Clinic continues to provide New Yorkers, from all backgrounds, the most professional and compassionate mental health care at an affordable cost.
Licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health, the Karen Horney Clinic, a not-for-profit organization, is funded through a combination of private contributions, foundation and government grants, and sliding scale fees based on an individual\’s ability to pay. Medicare, Medicaid and numerous other other insurances are accepted .
The Karen Horney Clinic provides advanced training in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapy for graduates of doctoral, social work and mental health counseling programs. For more information on post-degree training contact our Assistant Executive Director, Craig Fuller, Ph.D. at cfuller@karenhorneyclinic.org.
